Updated: Dec 11, 2025

On 14 October 2025, Microsoft will end support for all Windows 10 editions. After this date, no more security updates, bug fixes or Microsoft support will be released.

Why this matters:

  • Unsupported systems are prime targets for cyberattacks like ransomware.

  • You could face compliance or cyber insurance issues.

  • Software and hardware will gradually stop working properly.

What you should do:

  • Upgrade to Windows 11

  • Free for eligible Windows 10 PCs.

  • Brings improved security and performance.

  • Enable Extended Security Updates (ESU)

  • For organisations unable to upgrade right away.

  • Paid subscription providing critical security patches.

  • UK pricing: around £50 per device for Year 1, doubling each year.

  • Replace older devices

  • Some PCs won’t meet Windows 11 requirements, making new hardware the smarter option.

The bottom line:

Running Windows 10 beyond the deadline exposes your business to unnecessary risk. By planning now, you can budget effectively, avoid disruption, and keep systems secure.

At CyberPrae, we can help you check device readiness, calculate ESU costs, and plan your migration.

Don’t wait until it’s too late.
