Lead Technical Consultant

What is the role?
We’re looking for an experienced senior IT Engineer to join us as a Lead Technical Consultant. This role sits as a senior technical authority within the team. You will handle advanced escalations, lead and deliver complex projects, drive cyber recovery initiatives, mentor colleagues technically, and act as a trusted senior technical voice for both clients and internal teams.
This role does not carry direct line management responsibility, but it is a genuine leadership role in capability, influence, technical depth and delivery excellence.

What does the day to day look like?
Technical Leadership & Escalation

Ownership of advanced technical escalations from the Technical Consultant team

Acting as senior technical SME across Microsoft, Cloud, Networking and Security environments

Providing guidance, assurance and quality control across technical delivery

Contributing to technical strategy, standards and best practice adoption
Technical Delivery & Platform Operations

Senior-level IT support delivery at an expert / 3rd line level

Oversight and optimisation of client infrastructure, ensuring resilience and performance

Enhancing automation capability and supporting continued operational maturity

Developing internal and external knowledge resources to uplift capability
Professional Services & Project Delivery

Leading the scoping, design and delivery of Professional Services projects

Ownership of complex project implementations including Azure, Networking, AVD and Cloud transformation

Working closely with clients to understand requirements and shape technical solutions

Acting as technical assurance across project lifecycle
Cyber Recovery & Resilience

Playing a key role in Cyber Recovery engagements

Leading structured rebuilds across Infrastructure, Domain Services, Cloud and Security

Supporting forensic activities and containment strategies

Helping clients stabilise, recover and harden environments post-incident
Client Engagement & Senior Presence

Attending client sites when required to provide senior engineering and consultancy presence

Building strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders

Supporting sales and commercial conversations with technical expertise
What we’d like to see from you

Proven senior 3rd line / advanced technical capability
-
Strong experience across Microsoft Cloud, Infrastructure, Networking and Security

Demonstrable experience leading projects and technical initiatives

Cyber recovery or incident response experience is highly beneficial

Strong automation experience (PowerShell / Graph API / scripting advantageous)

Excellent communication, calm under pressure and credible in front of clients

Relevant certifications or demonstrable equivalent experience (Azure / Microsoft / Security / ITIL etc.)
